[A/S] A/S Air conditioner

I saw the thread on adding AC to a 68 Tradewind. I have been having similar
thoughts about adding AC to my 61 Tradewind. I did not want to put one on
top because of problems with reinforcint for the weight and having to run
wires. Quite frankly, I like the looks without a unit on top and I am used
to it that way. My first plan was to put a unit under the sink where the old
heater used to be. It has been replaced by 2 vented cat heaters. I found a
unit that would fit in the old spot it had a hose for condensation removal
so the main chores would be sealing the AC up to the hole left by the heater
in the side of the trailer and running the hose out. It has places for duct
connections as well as the cool out could come out under the sink through
the grill that is in the door. My problem has been finding time to do the
project. In the mean time at the end of last summer I happened on a
clearance at Home Depot of carrier AC's. The one I settled on was a Carrier,
has a handle on top and is surprisingly light. It is only about 9.5 in thick
and 11 in. tall. I don't remember the width but it is narrower than any
windows in my A/S. I figured I could make a bracket so it could be put in a
window when needed. I tried it in the trailer on a very hot day after the
trailer was very hot sitting in the sun. After 30 min the front room had
gotten quite comfortable, so I think it will be adequate when given a better
chance. I would like to hear other opinions, experiences. Phil
