Mark, foam water pipe insulation has been working just fine for me with my McKesk mirrors to eliminate the drumming that sometimes happens with the wind vibrated the nylon attaching straps. Cheap too. I realize you are addressing a different concern in your post. Jim Greene ' 68 Tradewind
