Jack,

The thermostat knob is the one I'm speaking of.  Although not marked in
degrees Fahrenheit, it does allow the user to set relative temperatures,
just like when using the unit for cooling.  The '93 A/S I owned previously
as well as the '84 I now have operate in the same way.
