Yello everyone,

Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) was the subject of a minor media frenzy
before Sept 11. Locally they had a field day with a children's
playground that was built from CCA treated wood. The playground was not
a good application for CCA treated wood, they should have used untreated
wood for the deck and railings. CCA treated wood should not be used in
CLOSE contact with people. I would hesitate to use it on a deck used by children.

Having said that CCA treated wood IS safe if used properly. CCA plywood
used as a covered floor poses no appreciable threat.
