I don't know what type of wood you have in your Airstream, but mine had the 
Africian Mahogney(?).  It is not as red as the Phillipian(?). I used 
stripper, then sanded with 80 the 100 sandpaper, and finished with a 
semigloss polyurthane.  I think the original only had a Watco Danish Oil 
finish.  Good luck, it is a big job.
