[A/S] Refinishing Wood Cabinets Inside.

Hello list members. I need the help of my wiser, more experienced colleagues
(you all) on this topic. I have a 1957 Caravanner and I'm getting ready to
refinish the wood on the inside. I'm also trying to restore this baby, so I
want to do this the "right" way ;)

My plan currently is to use a palm sander to remove older finish. Once it's
gone, I was going to re-seal it to protect it and make it look like new. My
idea was to take a door down to the hardware store and try to match the
finish and color (or lack there of) of the factory finish. Is there a
particular type of finish or method I should follow to achieve a
"factory-like" finish? Please enlighten me.
