Re: [A/S] Digest Number 823
Terry, I have removed the sofa from our 75 (31') and replaced it with 2
platform rockers. Removal is no problem, just be prepared for a lot of
phillips head screws, best done with a cordess screw driver or drill.
Removal of the sofa left a bare strip of flooring with no floorcovering
(carpet), since you are replacing the carpet, that will situation will be
moot. In addition, the back of the sofa was supported by the front wall of
the trailer, so removal of that support strip left several screw holes and a
bit of slightly faded/unfaded paint where the sofa and supporting strip
were. Since the platform rockers have to be out a bit from the wall, we
have additional space along the front wall, but we must be carefull raising
the table to avoid hitting the rocker. I need to modify the hinge apparatus
to slide while in the down position, not a big deal, just for convenience.
Incidentally, I shipped the sofa to another AS owner, who had purchased an
AS without a sofa. In our previous AS, I switched the sofa and bed. Go for
it! Ned Digh in Mid MO
