RE: [A/S] OPD Propane Cylinder Conversion

I'm not sure we're talking apples to apples, but my '02 Safari did not
have gauges inside the trailer to show me the amount of LPG remaining in
my tanks, which I am not comfortable with. So I asked my local LPG
dealer if OPD tanks were available with gauges. She just called to say
that she'd found a vendor for new tanks with a gauge located offcenter
from the hookup connection. Not only that, but she is willing to take my
"only been filled once" tanks in trade, such that the new tanks will
only cost me something like $40.00 each. I haven't seen the new tanks
yet, but the luxury of having a gauge on the tank that I can read will
be more than worth the money. Would be nice to check LPG balances from
inside the trailer, but one can't always have everything? On can I?

On another note, I had my first opportunity to pull my "Lady" ('02 27'
Safari) over to an RV park for the first sewage dump, using my new '02
F250 PS. Pulled it all over those small hills west of Austin as though
Lady wasn't even there. The towing power of that truck is really
impressive. I'm taking Lady on a week long Texas trail ride (mules &
wagons, horses, camping, food cooked out over fires, etc) the first week
in February, and for the first time in over 40 years of my doing this
ride & the usually miserable wet & cold weather we have in early
February, I'm really looking forward to the warmth, comfort and shelter
from the elements that Lady will provide. Years past we camped in tents,
or sometimes just under the stars or in the Connestoga wagon to avoid
the cold rain.

Living proof that life can be MUCH better with age.
