Re: [A/S] Using Microsofts Streets and Trips
Tom,
I used MS S&T as a back up on my trip to Alaska this summer. I did not use it as
my primary sense my DeLorme GPS unit would not function with it. I used Delorme
Map & Go as my primary. I found MS S&T to have much more data, and better
detailed data than M&G. I found all the campgrounds the Airstream Caravan stayed
in except the ones that were not really campgrounds all the way through Canada
and Alaska. I would have both software programs running on my laptop, and would
use S&T to locate the campgrounds. I would then jump over to M&G and pinpoint
the location, then insert a stop at that point and name it the proper name for
the campground. I would occasionally find the campground listed in M&G when I
found the location. I would switch S&T to my primary mapping if Santa had
brought me a new GPS unit, but he had better things to do with his money.
I am sorry I can't answer your question about adding maps, but found their maps
to be pretty good in most places I traveled this year. The new Street Atlas USA
Deluxe from DeLorme (my primary US only software) allows you to put in new roads
yourself that are then trackable with the route and GPS unit.
