[A/S] F250 Super Duty P.S. Diesel oil filter question

Hi all,

Just changed the first 3K oil on the F250 P.S. diesel and found conflicting
instructions regarding how much to tighten the oil filter.  The Motorcraft
FL1995 box calls for 3/4 turn past contact.  The notice posted on the oil
pan along side the filter calls for 1-1/2 turn past contact.  Only problem
is that I could only tighten the filter 3/4 turn with my make shift strap
wrench.

Is there a risk of the seal blowing if it isn't turned 1-1/2 turn past
contact?

In the mean time, I'm off to buy a new strap wrench that will handle the 2
quart size oil filter!
