[A/S] Re: New file uploaded to AirstreamList
Thought I might as well post some photos of my little project since
I've been lurking for the past 4 months or so. I take lots of pics,
so I only posted a fraction of what I acutally have. I think I'll
spend a Saturday afternoon and put together a proper web page to
share a little information.
So, this is my Safari International - a '65 I think. It came with a
'66 manual, but your collective knowledge has me thinking otherwise.
My restoration efforts pale in comparison to the rest of you folks -
this rig has lived its entire life in Arizona. The sun is the only
thing I've had to battle, which means anything other than metal on
the outside is shot.
I've replaced the tires and most of the lights. When I fired up the
AC (first time since '71) it got real cold inside despite the 108F
outside temperature. The 'fridge made ice cubes on the same day.
Just tested the furnace on a cold Arizona desert night (31F) and was
sweating inside of 10 minutes. The original toilet works and the
black tank held water for 3 days without leaking. All the electrical
facilities check out fine. Water heater fired up the first time I
tried to light it and heat H2O.
That's the report so far. I'm hoping to have it rolling down the
road (minus a proper polishing) in the next 4 months or so.
A big thanks to all who post and share their knowledge.
Regards,
Jason
