Emily,

Contact your 'favorite' A/S repair center and get a NEW cylinder for the
lock if you are talking about the key/lock that is inside of the 'regular'
door latch.  They 'SHOULD' tell you how to replace it when you buy the new
cylinder.  If not, contact me OFF LIST as crooks look here to get info on
breaking in.
