We have a 73 Excella 500. It had an L shaped sofa. We decided we would like just a
sofa across the front. We bought a futon with a frame but found it to wide for the
front. so put it lengthwise along the streetside. We were unhappy with that . Seemed
to take up to much floor space . so Peter reconfigured the pieces from the L- shaped
unit. an installed it across the front. It has a slide out so we can use the futon
mattress for a bed if we need to. We still have three storage units under and it is 
pretty comfortable but goes up quite high on the Front window. If you go this route 
make sure you buy a good mattress. Our daughter has a thin one And it is very 
uncomfortable. Ours is quite thick about 9 or 10 inches and I put allot of thro 
pillows on it because it is quite deep.  We also have a rocker recliner with a foot 
stool. If you go the futon route. Be careful if you buy a frame . Some are extremely 
heavy. We also looked at sofas at camping world. They are flex steel with a pull out 
bed. I think you can get them in thru the door but we didn't like how they felt. 
very hard to sit on. We like soft and comfy. Good luck.
