[A/S] Front Kitchen model?

 I would like to hear from any one with any info on the front kitchen model. 
We looked at a 98 34 excella that we loved but discovered a crack over the 
door. A friend had looked at it also and he said it had two much weight up 
front. Is this a common problem with that layout. We are not sure if we 
should continue to look for one if its some defect in the design. Thanks
