I'd suggest you first switch your cell phone plan to one of the plans that
give you unlimited or at least a whole lot of minutes included in the
monthly fee.

And then take your laptop and your cell phone to the cell phone store (or
maybe a computer store) and get the connection wire "gizmo" that will let
them communicate.

Probably not a very big deal.
