Welcome aboard. The 1974 29' center bath model is an excellent choice,
especially after reading your plus and minus lists. You did well!!

Dittos on joining the VAC email discussion forum. Although some of us are on
both lists, there's more interest in restoration on the VAC list. The total
number of members on each list is about the same (500-600).

Before you get scared off by the potential volume of email from two forums,
there's an ebb and flow. Even while we're traveling and picking up our email
3-4 times a week, we've found keeping up with the volume is no big deal.

While you are in the joining mood (?), why don't you consider the Vintage
Airstream Club? One benefit is the newsletter with a listing of upcoming
Vintage Airstream rallies and articles with historical perspective. Each
issue includes the password for accessing our ever expanding VAC Archives.

What is in the VAC Archives? All the related documents and most of the
manuals for each year and model of Airstream made, back issues of the
Vintage Advantage newsletter and your own free custom airstream email
address (yourchoice@airstream.net). If you are enthusiastic about your
Airstream (and it sounds like you are), then I suspect joining VAC ($10)
will be in the cards for you.

The VAC Archives are in addition to those by Tom Patterson. The combination
of both is the most comprehensive source of Airstream data in the world.

On a related topic, during 1993, a WBCCI Unit was formed to represent all
Vintage Airstream owners in the United States. The name of the unit includes
the name of the United States Federal District. This Unit is the fastest
growing Unit in WBCCI with members from not only the states, but from other
countries as well.  The Washington DC Unit holds rallies and caravans and
has a newsletter. It is the only WBCCI Unit formed by members to speak for
Vintage Airstream owners at WBCCI's International meeting each July.

Now is an exciting time to own a Vintage Airstream and there are plenty of
opportunities to get involved in whatever way sparks your interest. My wife
and I are Associate members ($10) of the WDCU (and 2 other units) for the
express purpose of receiving newsletters with dates of rallies and caravans.

Although it's impossible for us to do everything, we know what is occurring
around the country and can pick and choose to match our schedule and
location wherever we are on the continent.  There is a uniqueness of purpose
among Vintage Airstream owners. With it comes camaraderie and fellowship.
That is immensely satisfying to us.
