[A/S] SKP Park in Nevada

Hi Gang,
For those who belong to Escapees RV group this park in Pahrump is an especially
friendly group. We have been in their boondocking area 3 free days and are
amazed that the lot owners ALL wave as they drive by. They have 10 am coffee,
4 pm happy hour, 50 cent washers, stop and chat when they see a new face, etc.
Carl and I arrived here Tuesday after leaving a week of boondocking at the Death
Valley 49ers' Encampment. We promptly settled in and went to town to the Pahrump
Nugget Hotel/Casino for dinner. On Mon-Thurs their buffet section has 55 &
over 2fer1 dinner at $5.99. So for $6.39 we had a delish dinner, dessert, beverage.
Can't buy groceries for that and what a treat. There are 4 or 5 casinos around town
that have specials in their restaurants- they are like the casino meal prices used
to be in Las Vegas.
Pahrump has a Coast to Coast park, and there are RV parks behind Best Western, as
well as at 2 or 3 casinos. We took advantage of the town library and got caught up
on our banking/I-Net...
It was a great change in temps too - just 50 miles east of Death Valley. Our last
night in D.V. was so warm it was a 'sheet' only night with all the windows wide
open and the next night in Pahrump it dipped to 38 degrees!! The weather was great -
70's during the day with bright sun and "blanket" nights. The town is also only 70
miles west ofLas Vegas. Between Pahrump and L.V. there is one of Howard Hughes'
former ranch refuges plus there is Red Rock Canyon(Natl Monument?), a reknowned
rock climbing location and beautiful.
