When I bought my '90 Excella, Ed, the prior owner, made a point to 
instruct me on how to jack it up to change a tire. I have used this 
technique, and it seems to work quite well. The manual was not as 
clear. Ed said to lower the front electric jack as far as practical 
thus raising the frame aft of the wheels. He pointed out that there 
was a diamond shaped steel jacking plate on the undercarraige of the 
trailer a couple of feet behind each of the rear wheels. They are
hard to see because they are the same color as the metal of the belly 
pan, and only the seem around them distinguishes them from the rest
of the sheet metal. With the rear of the trailer raised you can
insert a bottle jack under this plate. You may have to fully extend 
the jack or put a 2X6 under it, etc., but just make sure it fits
under the jacking plate firmly. Now go to the front of the trailer
and use the electric lift to raise the wheels off the ground. I have 
used this method twice with good result.
