Balancing wheels and tires is a must for safe, smooth traveling.  Modern
computer balancers do a super job in balancing the wheel and tire.  The
problem is that the wheel hub, which includes the brake drum also spins and
can affect the balance.

Ideally, (and the right way to do it) the hub assembly should be balanced
separately from the wheel and tire, so that any properly balanced tire (and
wheel) can be mounted on any hub, and the balance will be retained.

Does anyone know of a machine shop or other facility which can balance an
Airstream hub and brake drum?  Engine builders often balance critical engine
components on high performance engines.

It is unfortunate that the manufacturer of the brake drum, and hub do not
adequately balance these components in the first place, or do they?
