They say it in the new manual?  

What I am saying is, adding anything after market that can effect 
performance, could be a way out of honoring a warrantee..... so, having it 
factory installed is a good idea.

That said, mine is aftermarket and I''m very happy with it....and have not 
had any problems that I've had to hassle with Ford. <knock wood>
