Perhaps not as expensive as you might think. [I have not priced such a paint
job, and am not in the painting business, so I cannot say.

Note that the major cost of an automotive paint job is in the preparation.
(Also true of painting an Airstream.)  BUT, the prep work on a steel bodied
automobile includes a lot of filling and sanding and attending to rusted
areas.  These tasks are minimal or non existant when painting an Airstream.
On the other hand, you do have a lot of surface area which uses quite a bit
of paint. Urerthanes and epoxies with catalysts  can cost over $50.00 per
gallon.
