Hmmm,

I think the guy at Airmark said to wash the unit with vinegar as a first
step to stop the oxidation.  Been a long time since I talked to him, but a
call to Airmark Tools ( www.airmarktools.com ) might get some real
interesting information as they do professional polishing and will come to
your site to do the job! :)
