Bobb. Your the exception, not the rule. A lot of nice
people got killed, doing exactly what you said to do.
This site is basically for the do-it-yourselfer. To
insinuate that what you did in the military with split
rims is safe, is very misleading. Military life takes
many chances that civilian life doesn't. For anyone to
take the chance with a split rim today, far exceeds
the bizaar. To share your experience with others is
great, and welcomed. Encouraging others to do unsafe
things, just doesn't make it. I wonder how some states
"workmans compensation" would rate what you did in the
military.   Max
