[A/S] Am I crazy?
Hello all. I'm brand new here, so bear with me. I am on the verge
of buying a 1964 Globetrotter for what I think is a steal.
Here's what I know:
3 owners- 1st guy owned it for 35 of its 37 years and apparently,
like the owner, it never traveled very far. In fact, it's in the same
town, just a few miles away.
A tree fell on it and damaged the rear roof, but the metal isn't torn
or broken, just dented real good. The interior fiberglass is craked
where the tree hit it and the closet between the bath and stove
was damaged.
Second owner bought it from original owner to slavage parts for
a bus he was converting to a camper, but found he couldn't use
anything. He sold it to his buddy for $400. Buddy let his kid play
in it for the summer, now wants to get rid of it and just recoup his
$400.
Everything is original and in OK shape (except for the tree
damage). I will have it towed or hauled on a flatbed to my home
where it will sit in my driveway until I'm ready to start tinkering. I
have never owned a trailer before (but have always wanted one)
and have never done a restoration project like this. I don't even
have a car that can tow it!
So let me ask all you wise (and maybe not so wise) Airstream
fanatics: Am I crazy?

vintage house, a not-so-vintage dog, a soon-to-be vintage Honda
Civic and who is rather vintage herself!)
