Hello Pearl and others,
I'm the smart-alec who agreed there's nothing here in Nebraska but cows and 
corn.  The response was given with tongue in cheek.  It's true there's not 
much to see if you ride straight through on I-80.  But you're right, Pearl, 
in your suspicion that there's something worth seeing on the blue highways.  
In this case it's the extreme northwest corner of the state as well as the 
area just to the east which we refer to the "sandhills" with very sparse 
population, lots of sand, pretty little lakes and wildflowers.  Quite 
interesting to drive through.  Real cowboy country.  The Niobrara River is 
real popular as a canoeing river.  Up towards the South Dakota border there 
is a very nice high hilly area of pine forests.  Chadron State Park and Fort 
Robinson State Park are good spots to stop.  Probabaly the nicest part of the 
state and seen by very few since it's so far from the freeways.  Consider a 
swing through that part of the world next summer on your way to or from Rapid 
City for the International.  Both are popular so book ahead and book early.  

There's always something interesting to see and do in every state.  Just have 
to know where to look - or be willing to explore.
