Hi Hunter, 

Friends of ours who are full timers have an east coast and west coast
Airstream ("their cottages") which they leave permanetly in RV Parks. Their
traveling Airstream is a smaller one. Their kids look after the stationary
ones when the parents aren't there and sometimes take mini-vacations in
them. It works out well for everyone.

Our friends explore the continent to their heart's content and have a
homebase on whichever side of the continent they feel like staying.  We're
considering a similar variation with one as our homebase, one for traveling
and one for restoring at the homebase.  I'd wager there are a lot of
variation being used by full timers.
