I have a similar problem with my '73 Excella.

In the very rear of the trailer, there has been some corrosion of the 
out skin near the bottom of the center panel of the exterior skin.  It 
get's the floor wet in a space about 5 in square, I
actually stumbled upon the problem while making the bed the last trip.  
Turned out there is now a finger size hole in the floor from the 
constant moisture.

I believe that even before the corrosion on the exterior presented it 
self, it's just now peeking up over the molded strip around the back of 
the trailer, that it has been leaking for quite awhile.
I've been thinking of making a storage compartment access under the bed 
from the back so this would require the whole are to be rebuilt anyway. 
 I'm not really sure what the best course of action
is.  I can't see to get at anything readily, either from the inside, or 
from under the Bumper cover, storage area in the bumper.

Just some of my observations that seem to indicate a similar problem.
