I've had both..... first the motorhome, then a 21 foot trailer... now a 25' 
trailer.

I got rid of the motorhome to have the first trailer.

Reasons I don't like the motorhome.... 

Not as pleasant to drive as a truck.
Had to run gen and roof air to keep cool
Had to have a toad... two vehicles to maintain.
Too noisy, stuff in cabinets rattling.
Don't like the living space being an aisle.
Don't like a dashboard and steering wheel in my living room.

Reasons I prefer the trailer.......

More open floor/living space
One vehicle to maintain, a vehicle that cools with just dash air.
Twice as good gas mileage
Don't have to sightsee in a little dinky car.
Can keep replacing the tow vehicle and still have the living quarters.
I hate climbing up and down motorhome stairs with dogs on leash.

In my case, I had a motorhome, a Bronco II as a toad *and* a Suburban as my 
regular vehicle....

Getting rid of the motorhome mean't I didn't need the Bronco... so I only 
needed one vehicle....

Obviously it's a personal choice, but *my* choice was, and always will be... 
trailer.
