[A/S] Avion

Hi, all.
I'm new to the list....well, OK, I've been lurking for
a while.
I've been looking at Airstreams and I love them, but
as I'm seeking my first trailer, I have questions. I
have seen several dozen trailers in person (been in
them), and several hundred online, and I'm absorbing
quite a bit. I love the differences, the similarities
and overall uniqueness of Airstreams. The way people
customize them, and the way people restore them.
I have not, however, camped in a trailer before. I am
a fan of tent camping, as is my girlfriend, but we'd
like to give the Airstream / trailer camping thing a
go.
On a recent monthlong road trip to and through Alaska,
we saw many trailers, many Airstreams, even several
teardrops, and we spoke much about how much fun we'd
have in one. So I've looked and looked, and I think
we may make a purchase soon.
My question is following... Since I haven't had a
trailer before, I am finding it hard to justify
spending in excess of 8 or 9000 bucks for one, since a
small chance exists that we'll decide we like tent
camping better. In lieu of this, I've broadened my
horizons. I've come across a nice Avion. Does this
make you cringe? Did the heading of my post make you
cringe? Shivers up and down your spine? Do you hear
the name and close your eyes and shake your head?
Basically, what is your opinion of Avion trailers?
I'm looking at a 1961 T-20. Maybe it would only be a
stepping stone for a nice Airstream (that's what I'm
expecting), but maybe it would be a big mistake?
Any advice would be appreciated. You all seem to know
so much.
Thanks.
