I can't imagine not having either the electric start (2000 doesn't 
have it) nor the extra 1000 watts... especially with the ecothrottle 
feature to let the genny cycle down when the draw is low.

I also got the 50 amp 125v paralleling adaptor since my friends are 
now, one by one, seeming to pop up with the 3000... my next step is 
to build a nice 50 amp distro with breakers and outlets for various 
feeds and loads... I may put an amp meter in the distro panel, too, 
to get a better feel for what the various loads consume.
