If you haven't considered Lindeen covers (www.lindeen.com), it might be
worthwhile to do that. I have six of them on my Airstreams. All are silver
in color. They are impervious to the hardest of hail stones (which can
severely damage the skin on my Airstreams).

The more significant benefit to this particular type of cover is not having
broken vent covers during a hail storm while my roof  vents are open. I
don't want water damage inside my Airstream because of wind driven rain
(especially hurricanes and tornados).

Most of us tow our Airstreams around the country. That means that sooner or
later, we will experience rain, hail and foul weather. If I'm shopping in
town when a windy storm comes up (and our vents are open), I want to be
confident that all is well on the home front so I can keep on shopping. I
don't want to feel that I must race back to the Airstream and check if hail
stones broke the covers.  That's not one of my Airstreaming goals.

I've been told the material used to make Lindeen Covers is the same as that
used to make  bullet proof vests.  I thought Lindeen covers were pricey, but
I took a gander at an Airstream that suffered water damage because the
plastic covers broke during a tornado (while the roof vents were still
open). It took only one look to realize the cost for dealing with that
situation would rot my socks in a hurry.

Another source for Lindeen covers is to buy them used (half price) at the
big WBCCI Flea Market (200-300 Airstream owners) during their annual
International Convention.  Several years in a row,  one or two were being
sold by owners.  Without bargaining, I bought them immediately.

A third source is to buy them used from a VAC member who is parting out a
damaged Airstream.  A fourth source is to buy them from an RV that was in an
accident and recently towed from the Interstate to a junk yard in
"Anywheresville, USA."
