Re: [A/S] glass window replacement

Hi Don,

Unfortunately, the original type of glass is only available on Airstreams in
Airstream bone yards. There may be someone on the VAC list with an inside
track to a junked Airstream (with windows). If you don't subscribe to that
list, you might give it a try.

I saw a posting about the exact years when that glass was used, but can't
find it in my small archive collection. You may want to search Tom
Patterson's massive archive collection (easy search engine).

If you can't find what you need in a timely fashion, keep looking, even if
you have to look for years. In the meantime, the easiest thing might be to
tow your Airstream into a glass shop parking lot and ask them to fabricate a
window for you. Having them see the amount of curve is better than you
trying to describe it.

As to type of glass they can use, that depends on what you can afford. If
you have any inclination for an Alaskan trip, it might make sense to
consider lexan, especially if streetside window glass is what you need.

If I'm wrong on these suggestions, I'm sure you'll hear about it. Who knows,
their story may be more optimistic than mine. That would be good, huh?
