Hi Bob & Harriet,
Actually, we had the same sticky problem in our '83 when we bought 
it, and Donald Kribbs gave us the solution.  He suggested we use Mean 
Green, which we purchase by the gallon at Dollar General, and it 
works! Just spray it on, rinse off with wet cloth.  We usually skip 
the rinsing and simply wipe off with and old t-shirt.
But the ceiling and walls continue to get sticky and need to be 
cleaned on a regular basis.  We don't smoke, but we live in our 
Dreamstream at least half of the year, so with cooking, the humidity 
of showers, road dust, etc. that seems normal.
