Re: [A/S] Tuna-Butterpaws question/Traveling with cats

Hunter is right...it's a bad idea to let cats run loose in strange
territory.

Cats _are_ territorial, and their home is the center of that. When you move
to a new home, it takes a while for the cat to figure out where it is. Many
cats are "lost" when they try to get back to their old home.

When you have a traveling home, the cat has no chance at all. It isn't able
to establish the territory it needs, nor to find any familiar landmarks.

Many campgrounds are in areas where there are predators that might eat your
cat, or animals that are vectors for diseases like rabies. Don't risk your
cat.

Our cat travels with us, but never goes out unless on a leash, and never
stays outside, even when leashed, unless we are with her.
