Hi Jim,

I'm not familiar with the Honda EU series of generator/inverter but I 
can hazard a guess at the reason for the cost of the paralleling 
cable.  Paralleling inverters requires that two specific issues be 
addressed. The outputs must be identical in frequency, amplitude 
(voltage) and phase to prevent current flow between the inverters and 
the load must be shared equally between the inverters to prevent one 
inverter from trying to do all of the work and becoming overloaded.  
This is accomplished with additional circuitry not needed for single 
inverter use and I suspect Honda may have included this circuitry in 
the paralleling cable assembly.
