[A/S] Surge Surpression

Jack:

Intermatic has a product called Electri-guard that is inexpensive (less
than $50), and connects via standard conduit couplings to your A/C
distribution panel.

Although it's a two pole device (for the 120/240 in a typical home), in
the case of a single pole distribution panel (like a trailer), you would
just use one side of it. When that side fails, you can use the other.

These devices simply 'clamp' incoming voltage to an acceptable level;
typically in the 150v range. Should do you nicely, for a lot less
money.

It's the size of a standard single gang box that your electrical outlets
in your home are mounted in. It has 2 red LEDs that indicate the
functioning of the suppressers.
