[A/S] Insulation Around Water Pump ? Yes or No

Will putting insulation around the water pump to reduce the racket 
cause it to run too hot ??

We will have a ton left after the flooring project this weekend and 
I'd like to put it to good use. Certainly don't want anything to fry, 
it's so HOT around here.
p.s. The pump lives amidship under the tall clothes cabinet, curbside.
