Re: [A/S] A/C, swamp cooler and/or fan recommendations to replace crank-up vent?
Wayne,
I guess my selection would be based on when I use the
trailer, where I use it, and how often do you go out
to non electric sites.
Personally based on my usage, the air conditioner is
first choice. I remember many hot nights and days in
my pop up and tenting years. The A/C actually opened
us up to more travel and travel to areas that we
wouldn't have experienced because of climate.
Now second on the list is the Fantastic Fan. I have
always carried portable fans but never had anything
that worked well. Many times I would have rather not
used the A/C but I really had nothing to ventilate the
trailer properly. When I had the Safari built, I made
sure it had a FF on the front and rear vents. They
work great! As a plus, these units run on 12 volts.
The swamp cooler always is an option in the dry climes
and would be a good alternative if you spend a lot of
time in the southwest. Obviously you need a water
supply to make this alternative work. These do not
work well in humid climates so I would put this third
on my list of choices.
