The best thing I have found for "sticky ceiling" syndrome is paint 
thinner. The thinner I used says "100% mineral spirits". The girls 
cleaned that ceiling with every household cleaner thay could find and it 
was still sticky, but the thinner really cleaned it up.......the rags 
came out BLACK!! Ughh
