[A/S] B-van roof

I have a 1992 B190 B-van. According to the factory, this is one year 
they painted the roofs.  The surface of the roof is dull and has 
almost a cloth like appearance.  The roof has developed cracks that I 
am concerned with.   I am considering white-topping the roof as the 
factory does with trailers to seal the cracks and to cool the 
interior.  My concern is what to coat it with.  

This is the second problem I've had with the fiberglass roof.  The 
first was what looked like the gell coat cracking then peeling off.  
It looked like something that had been repainted numerous times and 
all the layers  of paint had cracked through and were peeling.  When 
I ground through the spider web cracks, I discovered under each line 
of cracks there was a string of air bubbles.  
Any help on material for coating the roof will be appreciated.
