I am not suprised on that one Hunter. A 454 is lucky to make 85,000 miles before a rebuild. They water jackets in them are too thin. they overheat easy as a result and have a problem with blowing head gaskets. Also the intake design on them seems to cause the middle cylinders too burn too rich. Jon
