[A/S] Re: [A/S 2000/2001 Dometic Refrigerator Problems
I'm with Hunter, I don't like to leave the gas on when I'm towing. I start
out with the refrigerator fully cooled. If I don't open it until I get
plugged in again, it keeps everything cool. On a longer trip, when I will
want to get into it along the way, or in warmer weather, I put frozen blue
ice packs (available at RiteAid or WalMart in the camping section) amongst
the food. Works great. Sometimes I put "travel food" in a small ice chest
in the truck, to avoid having to open the refrigerator until arrival.
Here's a tip: keeping the freezer compartment FULL of frozen-something (like
a bag of ice from the market) will help to keep the whole unit cold during
travel.
