Re: [A/S] Grand Cherokee and Safari

Well, if you aren't pulling much maybe. I say that because I had a 1500
suburban with the 5.7 V8 and I sold it when I got my 25' trailer because it
was struggling on hills.... alot of it depends on your personal comfort
level....

If you don't mind going uphill on an exit ramp and merging onto a 70mph
interstate going 40 then a 4.7 will do okay.......

I want more power for mountains and interstates myself....... I want a longer
wheelbase for control and I want a vehicle that can stop my trailer in case
the trailer brakes fail (that has happened).

I met some Airstreamers in SC at a rally. They were pulling a 10,000# 34'
tri-axle with a 1/2 ton Suburban..... I was amazed.... I asked them about it
and they said they only have problems in the mountains... that they have
actually had to turn the rig around part way up a mountain because they
couldn't make it to the top!!! They had done that more than once.

That's not within my comfort level.
