Hi Jim,I recently bought a Honda EU2000 generator and am currently very pleased 
with it and the Honda design.  One of the features of the Honda is the 
"Eco-Throttle" which throttles down the engine according to the 
electrical load.  This keeps them quiet and economical.  The 2000 won't 
get my air conditioner started however.  Another feature of the EU 
series Hondas is a paralleling cable.  Two generators of the same size 
can be paralleled to double the size.  Very cool.  Two 2000s paralleled 
 are lighter than the EU3000 and about the same price.  This is the 
direction I'm heading towards.On the other hand, it seems to me that if 
the only function is to have A.C. at rest stops a cheap noisy 3500W 
would be the way to go.
