[A/S] Texas Travel Trailer Speed Limits

Actually, I believe Texas does have a higher limit as you guessed.  I think
the Texas portion of the boating laws web site is incorrect as it pertains
to speed limits.  Up until the first of this year, if my memory serves me
correctly, Texas motor vehicle code limited speed to 65 mph when towing
travel trailers.  I don't remember a separate limit for towed boats as I no
longer own one but I believe it was the same as travel trailer limits.  A
similar reduced limit applied to semi tractor trailers.  Recently the law
was changed for semi tractor trailers and, I think, for cars/pickups/vans
towing travel trailers.  I am not certain about the travel trailer part but
the special speed limit for semis was eliminated after considerable protest
and lobbying.  (Texas is a very wide/long state to travel across and the
reduced speed limits added significantly to commercial truck driver's
frustration if not costs because the highways are excellent and the speed
limit seemed arbitrary.  The speed limit for big trucks is now the posted
speed for automobiles and most other vehicles which, in most cases, is 70
mph.  I usually don't tow beyond 65 mph so hadn't thought about the travel
trailer speed limit.

Web sites like the one recently offered on list are helpful guides but since
they were developed, not by state agencies who update after changes in the
law but by well-intentioned individuals, the sites frequently live on long
after the information becomes outdated.
