Switch or no switch, my '76 A/S has a quick connector at the battery cables,
15 inches or so from the battery.

All you have to do is unplug the battery connector. It's foolproof and one
less thing to go wrong.

A switch capable of disconnecting the battery has to have a very high amp
(current) rating and doesn't come cheap.  I'd just unplug the battery.
