Re: [A/S] 1955 Overland w/2001 Toyota Tacoma - was Airstream pullers

Thanks for your reply. I'm feeling fairly confident that the Toyota will
will safely tow a 1958 Overlander. I've read the archives and talked to the
Airstream factory tech. toll free suport at 1/877/596/6505. The weight was
3170 dry and 260 hitch and he explained why these trailers are lighter than
  later years. From the archives I've formed this plan of making sure that
it is road worthy;
1) new wheels to replace the split rims and michilen load range D trailer
tires. 2) bearings repacked. 3) electric brakes installed. 4) L.P. leak
test. The trailer is in Boise, Idaho so my plan is to have the work done at
American Way RV center in Boise then pick the trailer up and see the area
before returning to Southern California. Any recomendations or past
experiences with American Way would be greatly appreciated.
