Verna,

Back when we were driving a 20' Argosy we called Doodle Bug, I was
always leaving the antenna up, vents open and the mechanical steps
down. I devised a quick and dirty acronym called WALK. On the
general level it meant Walk All-round Looking and Kicking. 
Specifically it stood for:

Windows and vents
Antennas (TV and Ham)
Lines (water lines, sewer lines, electrical lines), and 
Kick up the steps as I came in.

Make up your own that works for you.

I often use a ham antenna that is a 60' wire from the back of the RV
thrown up over a tree limb. Once I forgot that and left camp
dragging all 60 feet of that wire. People honked but I thought they
were just  wishing us Bon Voyage or something. My camping group 
called me "closeline" for several weeks after that. I hated that
name. That's when I figured out W A L K.
