RE: [A/S] Canadian Customs



Harvey, 

The same thing happened to me on two entries into Canada. My job was
taking me to Alaska, so I had no choice about entry. I had rifles in my
truck.  The Inspector kept asking me if I had any guns.  I told him that
I had several rifles but no pistols.  Pistols seem to me the magic word.
He went thru every piece of luggage in the truck and prepared to start
removing the inside coverings on the doors. At that time, I got in the
truck started the engine and just left him standing there.  I simply
went back into the US and drove to another crossing. I got asked the
same questions there..but, did not get the "wreck my truck" inspection
there.

My understanding is that Texas and California plates is good for
everything short of a stip search.
