There's a new development with Escapees: ERPU, Escapees Rainbow Parks
Unlimited (see Escapees May/June 2001 p. 21).  "ERPU is a home-based
membership program that provides you with an RV site for five years, with an
option to renew for $1, or you can get your ERPU membership money back if
your plans change.  The membership commitment is for five years; however, if
you want to give up your membership before five years, and there is someone
on the waiting list to take your place, your money will be refunded.
Because your ERPU membership fees are returned, the actual cost to you is
only the annual maintenance fee".

Tentative locations being considered are northern California ($14,900 with
an annual maintenance fee of $850) and Florida ($14,500 - $750).  There is
one at Livingston, Texas ($12,500 - $650).

Sounds interesting to me.  They are trying to get a feel for how much demand
there will be for this project.
